Draft Day 1 Musings

3 days of the NFL draft? Sounds like 3 days to consider your team's curse.

Honestly though, 3 days is a bit much. Seems as if this is the latest hot thing to do (see HP 7:I & II) and it makes sense money wise, but we know what the great Diddy would say about mo' money.

For those of us who sat around only to not have a pick in the first round (words can't describe how exciting that is), all we can do is speculate moves that were made in the first round or previous moves that cost us the first round. Was it worth it? We really could have used another RB with Chester Taylor's departure, and to a division rival? What are you up to, administrative assistant?

But the focus is on those who did make moves, like Josh McDaniels, who had to trade his first born in the last trade simply because they had nothing else left to offer. But for Tebow? (Anyone else wondering who was behind Tebow while he watched the draft?) How bout you, J-E-T-S, getting a familiar feeling? I wonder how Cromartie feels about the first round.

Clausen and McCoy still around is pretty crazy. Cmon Vikes, get a QB early in round 2. I'd prefer Clausen, but if McCoy goes to the Vikings I can say I met and took a picture with a Vikings QB (I just missed out taking a picture with the last stud we drafted at QB at one of his many fan meet and greets, and no, that isn't Favre). By the way Colt (yeah, we're on first name terms), thanks for the tip on that "hot" video roulette machine in Atlantic City (he was there for the Maxwell Awards, I was there to be the next AC success story, or first success story?). I'm sure it's purely a coincidence that that same machine ate my cash faster than Joey Chestnut takes down Hot Dogs on July 4th (that metaphor and I are going to be friends fast).

At least we have another exciting primetime event tonight. Well, not ALL of us (sorry Redskins, see you Saturday). Trade rumors are already speculating. Just think, the next draft pick could be YOUR team's cure for the curse.
