Favre's Latest Addition to the Curse

And some wondered if I was being a "homer" with my pick of Vikings fans being the perfect example of the "Love-Hate Relationship" fan.

In the latest Favre news, turns out he'll require ankle surgery to play in '10. This is a result of the no call dirty hit he got during the NFC Championship game last season (my objectivity is out to lunch, sorry folks).

We are so screwed...

To be perfectly honest, I desperately hope he comes back. The Vikings avoided addressing the QB situation in the draft in order to focus on short term needs, which makes sense for a team that was literally a playoff OT rules change one play away from making the Super Bowl, but without Favre, the Vikings are in the same position they were two years ago, and we all know how that ended. You would think Favre not coming back would lead the Vikings to give an arm, leg, and maybe even the latest hot commodity on the NFL's trading block, Josh McDaniel's first born, for a short term QB answer. The problem is, there is nobody out there, which would mean the Vikings would be up some sort of creek without a rowing mechanism, or however the saying goes. They'd end up giving up way too much for way too little, and the Vikings would be all but poised to break their fans hearts all over again.

In all honestly, I hope this is a means for Favre to miss training camp with a legitimate reason, which some current players are perfectly cool with. That way, he can come back and break our hearts all over again. (I was so, so happy three years ago thinking how sweet it was that Favre would end his career with an interception. Boy, that came back to bite me in the ass).

Hey, let's look on the bright side of things. If Favre doesn't come back I got a great idea for the first free giveaway we can give all the fans to start the season.
